There is a small village called Timijiraque in the South-West of the island, close to an inviting black sand cove. It is especially interesting to see the remains of the former saltpans, a few walls and the area where the process of concentration of salts was begun. Timijiraque has a picnic area where you can relax and enjoy the view.
Eight kilometres further South, at the mouth of the bay of Las Playas, is the imposing Roque de la Bonanza, a 200 metre tall rock formation, one of the musts to photo on the island.
At the other end of the bay, and in a place completely apart from the rest, is the peaceful Parador de Turismo, a comfortable and elegant three-star hotel.
