El Sabinar

In El Sabinar, in La Dehesa, there is an open thicket of spectacularly gnarled wild juniper trees. These have been blown into these surreal shapes by the Trade winds. They look as if the knots of wood were anchored to the ground. The area round the thicket is inhospitable and the trees stand as if defending themselves and fighting for survival.
