Cycling route to discover El Hierro

Start pedalling in Valverde—the capital city of the archipelago's smallest island—and keep going as far as San Andrés, a farming village. Road HI-4 takes you to the crossroads for El Julan and Hoya del Morcillo. El Hierro is special because of its scenery but also on account of how quiet life is here.

Cycle to La Peña viewpoint

After a little break between twisted juniper trees, we descend to El Verodal Beach and leave it behind us to go through El Golfo Valley and then cycle uphill along the Frontera road – through one of the most amazing mountain passes. When we reach a height of 1,300 metres, we are nearly at La Peña viewpoint—the work of César Manrique—and we return to Valverde through the hamlets of Guarazoca, Erese and El Mocanal.
