How to get to El Hierro

The Canary Islands are the southernmost point of Europe. Every day frequent flights depart from them, connecting the archipelago with most of the countries of the European Union and the United Kingdom in just a few hours.

El Hierro Airport is located about 10 km from Valverde, the island’s capital. Flights from here connect to Tenerife and Gran Canaria, so travelers coming from other parts of Europe will need to make a stopover on one of these islands first.

El Hierro also has a direct sea connection to Tenerife. Ferry journeys take approximately 2 hours and 20 minutes and connect the port of La Estaca, in the municipality of Valverde, with the port of Los Cristianos, on Tenerife.
