Contramapas

"Contramapas" is a socio-cultural and educational initiative promoted by the Atlas Cultural Association that travels on foot through the eight Canary Islands along the long-distance trail GR131. The event starts at the end of April and concludes on May 30, Canary Islands Day, at the Orchilla Lighthouse in El Hierro, after completing a demanding journey of nearly 600 kilometers. Beyond the physical challenge, the project functions as an outdoor classroom focused on sustainability, the inclusion of vulnerable youth, and the promotion of the archipelago's natural and cultural heritage. Following the success of its previous editions, the event will be held again in May 2027 to continue connecting the territory and local communities through the path.
