Bascos Viewpoint

The most spectacular views of El Golfo

This viewpoint is in the north of the island of El Hierro in La Dehesa. From the Bascos viewpoint, you can see all of El Golfo Valley. A high point located within a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, from where you can make out the village of Sabinosa and the impressive mass of the Tanganasoga volcano behind it. Some days you can see the silhouette of La Palma.

A break on the way to El Sabinar

A circular terrace of volcanic rock protected by some gates that used to by used by shepherds. The whole area around the viewpoint comprises peculiar, windswept nature: bent trees, rocks covered in lichen and twisted juniper trees.
