Natural Beach Monument

An unforgettable sight in the southeast of El Hierro

A succession of landslides collapsed part of the island of El Hierro, creating big bite-marks in its southeastern coastline. The result left us with the Natural Beach Monument – a stunning semi-circular landscape 9 kilometres long and more than 1,000 metres high. Somewhere full of peace and calm, far from the noise of the towns.

A viewpoint over Bonanza Rock and the Parador Hotel

The best viewpoints for seeing the great amphitheatre from another perspective are the Las Playas and Isora viewpoints – both at the top of the island. Beyond the coast emerges the well-known Bonanza Rock of volcanic origins and a natural emblem of El Hierro. Beside the sea, 15 minutes from Puerto de La Estaca, is El Hierro Parador – a luxury state-run hotel.
